Paul Barber read law at Jesus College, Cambridge, and was called to the Bar in 1992. He has been engaged with education policy and legislation at national level over the past two decades. Paul was Director of Education for the Diocese of Westminster for over 10 years and since 2013 has been Director of the Catholic Education Service (CES). The CES represents more than 2,200 schools across the 22 dioceses of England and Wales and includes both state-funded schools and sixth form colleges, as well as independent schools. Of the state-funded schools the majority are voluntary aided, over a quarter are academy converters and a small number are special schools.
