Cath Prisk is a passionate advocate for children outdoors – playing, learning, exploring.
Cath has worked in and around education since 1992, in schools, policy making and campaigning. She’s been a Deputy Head in a Nursery and was the global director for Outdoor Classroom Day, reaching over 10million children. In 2014 she set up Outdoor People, a London based social enterprise, making it easy for children, schools and families to get outdoors.
She now works directly with schools as an OPAL mentor, helping them make playtimes great; and as an LtL outdoor education trainer. She created Outdoor People’s core programme Outdoor Families, which helps families build confidence and skills so they can get outdoors every day. Cath also facilitates the London National Park City Schools Network and is a champion for Outdoor Classroom Day.
Outdoor People is also a camping and outdoors shop, supplying families, adventurers and schools with gear to get outdoors every day. All profits from the shop support the Family Wild Walks programme, adventures for Hackney’s children to take their parents on.
