Executive Headteacher for Standards and Accountability - Perry Hall Multi Academy Trust

Darryl has 16 years of experience of working within the education sector and before being appointed as EHT for PHMAT, he held several senior leadership roles in a variety of maintained schools and held management positions in both the private and public sector.

As one of two Executive Headteachers (EHT) for Perry Hall Multi-Academy Trust, Darryl Asbury is responsible for ensuring that not only the strategic development and growth of the Trust is implemented, but also the procedures and policies. He is also responsible for managing Trust Headteachers and their wider leadership teams and is accountable to the CEO and the Board of Trustees. He shares and actively advocates the Trust commitment of ensuring the best possible outcomes for every pupil within the Trust, no matter what their starting point is.

Darryl is also a local leader of education (LLE), delivering support to other schools both within and outside of the Wolverhampton area, and has also supported a school in Dubai. This support is carried out alongside colleagues in the PHMAT training and development team, lead by the other Trust EHT and includes NLE’s, SLE’s and LLE’s from across the Trust. This team provides support in areas identified by both themselves and the individual school’s leadership team.

In his first headship role, Darryl led the school through a transition from requires improvement to good, with an outstanding judgement for the school’s pastoral support, a vindication of the importance he places on the value of supporting the whole child. He recently successfully completed his National Professional Qualification in Executive Leadership with UCL.
