Joseph is Associate Principal at Oasis Academy Woodview in Woodview. He leads the Break the Cycle Anti-Racism Staff Network across the MAT. The purpose of this network is to identify and prioritise the issues which affect OCL and the communities that we serve, and to incorporate these into our anti-racism strategy. The culture of the network is about highlighting these issues as well as proposing solutions; crafting energy into change. The network leads the conversation on anti-racism across OCL and creates accountability for changes.
Joseph complete his PGCE in 2008, he holds a First Class degree in Multimedia Technology and a Master’s Degree in Education. Joseph started his teaching career in a school in Handsworth, Birmingham – school with a proud tradition of anti-racist practice. As a senior leader, Joseph was part of the team that achieved an Outstanding OFSTED inspection. When the school became and National Support School, and later a Teaching School, Joseph became an SLE and worked extensively supporting teachers and leaders in a range of schools. He was part of the leadership team that took a local school from Special Measures to Good. He has been at Oasis Academy Woodview for 3 years, initially as Deputy Principal and latterly Associate Principal.
