Katy Tomkinson is a qualified social worker who has worked at the NSPCC for over seven years where she has specialised in specialist assessments and interventions for young people who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour. Katy was one of two practitioners to write and create face-to-face workshops on managing harmful sexual behaviours for primary and secondary schools, as well as a workshop for SEND/ALN settings. In order to increase reach, the content of the workshops were used to create two e-learning courses; Managing Sexualised Behaviour in Schools. Katy is co-author to a resource designed to support professionals in offering a proportionate and timely response to Problematic Sexual Behaviour, which is currently under evaluation. In addition, Katy has contributed to a number of podcasts and films for the NSPCC and YOS on managing, assessing and preventing HSB. Katy has two BA degrees in Sociology and in Social Work.
