Sir Kevan Collins is known to millions as the Government Education Recovery Consultant who resigned after ministers allocated just £1.4 billion to a catch-up plan for schools. Many will also know him as the former Chief Executive of the Education Endowment Foundation, the grant-making education charity dedicated to overcoming educational disadvantage. Others will recognise Sir Kevan as the former Chief Executive of Tower Hamlets Council and before that as the National Director of Primary Strategy. Today, along with a range of UK based and wider global roles, he is the Executive Vice Chair of the classroom platform Learning by Questions. But those who really know Sir Kevan understand that he is, at heart, a teacher, someone who thinks and cares deeply about solving some of the critical issues in education.
