Alan Blount

Newstead Wood School (Invited)

Alan trained as a Science Teacher at the University of Exeter and has taught Science across South London and Surrey for the past 18 years. He has held various Head of Department positions in different schools. He has a Masters in Educational Leadership and Management and is currently Headteacher at Newstead Wood School in Bromley. Prior to that he was Pastoral Deputy, and held a Senior Leadership position with responsibility for Quality Assurance. He led the Science Learning Partnership for STEM Learning at Newstead, and they were awarded NCCE computing hub status in October 2019. Alan still teaches and is passionate about advancing women in STEM and has a keen interest in diversity and inclusion.
