Joe is a chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) with over 17 years of service within a Building Surveying/ Project Management background. He joined Eddisons in November 2015 – and has recently been promoted to Director
He has worked in education since 2006 delivering new build and refurbishment projects to both local authority schools and academies. He is currently working on a primary school expansion project funded by North Yorkshire County Council which will see an additional 4 classrooms and nursery facility to allow an extra 96 pupil spaces and boost pre-school nursery places from 30-60. In addition, Joe has delivered several modular building projects to provide additional teaching spaces to schools ranging from £250k – £1.5m.
His successes in the CIF arena include having personally obtained over £25m of funding over the past 5 years with Eddisons, for schemes ranging between £30k and £1.5m
He is involved with large scale projects including fire safety works within schools, building fabric works such as roof, window and cladding replacement schemes which are phased carefully around schools to minimise disruption combined with M&E replacement schemes involving the replacement of heating plant and electrical distribution to schools. Due to the nature of these projects, temporary assemblies are incorporated to ensure that buildings are fully maintained throughout the project. Works can be programmed whilst schools remain fully operational.
Joe is appointed by a number of larger multi academy trusts across Yorkshire and Humber to deliver estates management services. He and his team help set out a clear vision and implement an effective strategy and an overall Asset Management Plan to carefully programme capital funding projects. They work with MATs to identify, appraise and prioritise works over prescribed timeframes and deliver projects around specific requirements.
Joe can also help support trusts with funding applications for sports and energy efficiency projects.
On a more personal note, Joe recently became a father for the first time and is looking forward to experiencing the education system from a different angle in the coming years!
