Louise taught English in secondary schools for six years where she developed her passion for safeguarding, becoming Head of Year and developing pastoral systems. She has concentrated on leading Safeguarding and Child Protection since 2014, working as the Designated Safeguarding Lead at large, inner-city primary schools within Birmingham. She joined Academy Transformation Trust as Safeguarding Officer in September 2020.
Louise has sat on numerous steering groups within Birmingham to lead best safeguarding practice, won Innovation Grants to provide wellbeing interventions in her school, presenting to schools across Birmingham on its impact. She also contributes to DfE consultations.
Since joining ATT, she has supported policy development, safeguarding training, analysis of safeguarding data, risk analysis and intervention as well as auditing safeguarding practice.
She has a particular interest in emotional wellbeing and the governance of safeguarding in schools.
Louise is married and lives in Sutton Coldfield with her husband, a secondary school PE teacher, two young daughters and her beloved Romanian rescue dog.
