An experienced and effective School Business Professional following a successful career in Food and Agriculture.

Leadership of conversion to Academy status, establishment and expansion of a multi-academy trust.

Leadership of local SBL groups (Gloucestershire and Cumbria) to provide a vital role for the sector in sharing experience and practice, building knowledge and expertise and permitting networking.

Mentoring of CSBM and DSBM candidates.

Contribution to the SRMA program including Academy and Local Authority deployments, induction, assessment, quality assurance and mentoring. Also development of the Cumbria local SRMA program working with the Council Finance Team and in collaboration with the EFSA LA SRMA Team.

Appointed an MBE for services to education in 2018.



I believe in cooperative, collaborative leadership and team working to deliver outstanding outcomes, team and individual development.

I believe that sharing and development of knowledge is key to allowing individuals and organisations to achieve their best.

I get tremendous satisfaction from seeing people develop in their skills, self-confidence and performance.


Other interests and activities

I try to keep physically active through running (especially fell running) hill walking and cycling. I enjoy reading and gardening.
